Lunchtime came early because the live cow was only going to be at CFA until 11:00 am. We arrived around 10:50 and kids got a few minutes to pet the baby cows and a baby bull. Our dear friends the Rs came too. We ate lunch and then kids played a bit while we chatted. The oddest thing came when a mom came seeking me out at my table (not next to the playground). She came over and said, "My son said your son hit him." I was rather unsure of how to respond. First of all, it seemed really peculiar to make a big deal of it at all--I mean even to the point of seeking out a stranger many feet from where the incident occurred-- Secondly, I could see by my son's expression that he was a bit perplexed. I asked him, "Did you hit this boy?" David denied it. (had it been a different child, I might have had cause for doubt but David does not lie...and the very few times he has tried, it is so painfully obvious, he is always caught) I looked at the mom and she just stood there waiting for an apology still. I looked at D again and asked him if he might have accidentally hit him. David denied it again. Again, the mom just stood there. It was really awkward. Do I apologize for something I am very certain my son did not do??? And the funniest part is that by then there were probably 40 kids running around (no joke) inside the play area...most of whom were wearing white and black! Is she sure it was my cow who beat up her cow???

Dinner was a lot less crazy. CFA at lunch had held the maximum fire capacity I am sure. CFA at dinner (and a different location) was half empty. But those who were there were almost all dressed in cow attire (lunch had been about half).

We ate and then sent the kids off to play while Michael and I enjoyed a few moments to celebrate our 15th anniversary--almost unmolested. ;) What a romantic dinner! :)
