As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

First words and other 1 year things

I took Elizabeth to her 1 year well-baby check-up on Tuesday. I was not surprised that she is catching up a bit in her weight. She now is 29.5" long (62%ile) and 20 pounds (31%ile). The weight was only determined to generously be 20 pounds after she started screaming as the scale only then tipped the 20 pound mark. Her head circumference is 44.5 cm (32%ile). No health concerns at all, but she sure did not like her appointment. From beginning (with the measurements) to end (with 4 shots, 1 finger prick), she screamed almost non-stop. She also did not like her ears being examined etc...

On more cheerful news, Elizabeth has officially said her first words, "Na Na" for "Night Night" while she waves goodnight. (She also says this while waving goodbye and hello too). I find this rather ironic since the little girl hates to go to sleep and will scream for up to an hour upon being put down for a nap or at bedtime.
