Bizbeth,
So hard to believe you are finally 3 years old! (and yet, hard to remember that you have not always been three...)
The biggest change this last month was that you decided to finally finish the potty training (except at night and occasionally naptime). I had always known it was a matter of will. And this month, you just woke up one morning and decided to stop going to the bathroom anywhere but the potty. You are so proud of yourself! We have not had a single accident during the day in this whole past month. Even when we are out and I have to ask you to hold it. (what a change too from going to the bathroom every 30 minutes) Way to go big three year old!
While you still get frustrated in the lack of ability to do something as quickly as you feel you should be able to do it (ie dress yourself, put on shoes etc...), you are learning slowly to manage your emotions and we have had fewer tantrums.
You too love to be read to. We read together at naptime and before bed every day. And when I go up after nap to get you, you are often lying in bed just "reading" the Bible or other books. And you too are quite good at spotting Waldo and other items in the Waldo books. Another eagle eyes?
And a day is not quite normal unless you have changed your clothes at least twice or three times throughout the day...most often ending up in a dress up ballerina outfit or princess outfit...and often "pullups" (what you call tights).
You still have several cute Bizisms that I know will fade over time. I will try to add to the list as I remember/hear them. I love that you call all flying bugs "shoobugs."
For your birthday, you picked out a cake/cupcake combo decorated with flower rings. We just had a small lunch party with Daddy. (we were all still full from a large cinnamon bun breakfast) You also opened presents. You received a beautifully illustrated Mother Goose book from Grammy and Grandpa. You received money from Great Grandma K. And we gave you a vellum house decorating sticker book, a sleeping beauty dress-up dress, and some "my little ponies." Unexpectedly, you love the ponies best perhaps. And most of the time while you were opening gifts, Abigail was either staring longingly or trying to climb on the counter to get the cake. All in all, a sweet Saturday birthday!
Dear daughter, I love how you laugh uproariously at the smallest things! I love your innocence and joy in life!
We love you, Elizabeth! Happy Birthday!
