As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

the "z" on the bookend
We decided to go for our professional 2 year old photos on Saturday with forehead scar and all since it was not healing anytime quickly. The photographer was not a natural child photographer (preferring to wait to click until David was sitting just right and smiling), but we still got several nice pictures.

A second answer to prayers
I fear I risk sounding too matter-of-fact about our second pregnancy. So it is with this platform that I wish to declare to the world that God has yet again provided us our second answer to many prayers and another little miracle.
Our infertility with David was never explained. God brought about David's conception at just the right time but only after 5 years of praying and beseeching him for our first little miracle. During this time, God taught both M and I that it is only through His grace that anyone has children (supposedly "planned" or not)! We made the decision to allow Him to provide for our second one when He provided. Let me tell you; that was one of the hardest decisions ever because you hear stories all the time of people who have no trouble conceiving a second time even with difficulty the first time. The first four months of David's life were miserable and I had no desire for a second child then!!! From day one, nursing provided no birth control in our case so we really were trusting God's plan. About 1 year ago, we decided to start getting more serious about having child #2. Once again, God had his own timing. We began praying with David every night for a little brother or sister. We started recruiting other friends and family to pray for us as well. And in His grace...I still am blown away by the fact that God granted this second request too! Baby #2 is just as much a miracle as our other precious 2 year old!
Thanks to God for what He has done in our lives!

My Big Boy!
This month you really have grown up~
You are now feeding yourself all sorts of food with both spoon and fork--the spoon is still a bit messy, but more yogurt does go in your stomach than the bib now. You have branched out your food a tiny bit. You ate pizza this month (not too in love with it unless it came from our plate) and solidly eating grilled chicken again.
Your separation anxiety has lessened significantly...you no longer cry when we put you in your crib. In fact, you seem to enjoy naptime and bedtime now. You will even say "night night" to us. You are napping a bit better if I am consistent about putting you down at the same time everyday.
You can open all house doors now--and regularly do, open and shut.
You prefer to come downstairs face first holding the railing; although you are still cautious when coming down on your own.
You swim on your own mostly in the big pool now--the floaties perhaps give you a false sense of security, but you have handled a duck or two under water quite well. You do love water!
You have so many teeth it is hard to count--still a bit concerned about the two top teeth next to your front. I don't think I see them yet. Does this mean you are missing them? Both your Daddy and I had our baby teeth, but with our adult teeth missing, there perhaps is a good chance you might not have them.
You began calling your dad by his first name "Baku" (how much more mature can you get? :) )
You had your first serious blood this month on your forehead, as well as a second stubbed, bloody toe.
You still love all cars, puzzles, balls, and books. You have advanced to more complex puzzles where the pieces have to mesh together.
You are speaking so much more now--however you still get a bit confused on the things you are not solid on yet. The other day when I asked you what a car says, you said "Meow. Meow" (even though you have known the car sound for a long time!)
You do count (especially when climbing up or down the stairs). Unfortunately, we have a ways to go on that one. "two, four, five, eight, ten!" Every time!
You love to wear our shoes--mine seem to be a favorite, probably because they are almost all slip-ons.
This and so much more...Life is never dull around you, David! We are so thankful to the Lord for you; you truly are His special gift! We never knew what joy your smile would bring us! Happy 2nd Birthday, David!
