As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Baby, not newborn

Abigail is three months old today!  She has changed a bunch in the last month but is as sweet and laid-back as ever.  What a joy!

This month started with a newborn who ate every 2-3 hours.  Now she regularly goes 3-4-5 hours between feedings.  Perhaps that is also due to the fact that at week 3 this month, I had to start supplementing (could tell she was just not as content after feedings, and then I got sick, making it worse).  True, little A refused the bottle several times before finally accepting it, but now?  While she still nurses, she has become a bit lazy (the only one of my children to do so) and really prefers the bottle with faster speed/perpetual flow.  I am still trying to nurse her 3 or so times a day with 5-6 oz formula feedings in between.

All that milk has to go somewhere...we are now in size 2 diapers at night and even sometimes those leak.  Dirty diapers, which had been non-existent for 2-3 weeks at a time while breastfeeding solely, have become quite prolific again.

Her little tummy has gotten a bit bigger too.  Abigail most definitely fits all 3 month clothes and even many 3-6 months.

Her smiles have become more frequent and broader...sometimes for hours at a time, and she has added a little giggle too.  She particularly loves her mommy right now.

Generally, she is up for 1-2 hours at a time now, but she is happy for almost all of that!  Wow!  This is what a happy baby is like?!?  She is quite content to sit in her bouncy chair in the same room as us.  She seems to be a social baby, just like my other two.

Naptime is for about an hour or so in the morning and then normally a good, long nap in the afternoon.  Works well with the other kids schedules.

Even her grandparents are convinced that she is an easy baby!  Way to impress Gram and GDaddy!

She has begun trying to self-soothe a lot too.  While she still likes the pacifier right before falling asleep, she has begun sucking her whole hand or various fingers in an effort to soothe.  Perhaps she will end up a finger/thumb sucker like the other two?

This transformation from newborn to baby just gets me curious to see glimpses of her personality come out.  What a privelege to be mom to my three kiddos!

the magical number three with #3

I remember this post with E.  Abigail is one day shy of three months.  It is hard to believe I have not slept through the night once in 3 months!  No wonder I am so tired!  Last night, A slept from 7:30ish to 7:00ish for the first time!  I knew she was capable of this but just had not done so.  While I suspect this may not happen every night, at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully in the next week or two it will become a habit.

One who does not need her beauty sleep

Elizabeth is officially 18 months today.

My beautiful girl is getting more beautiful by the day, but certainly not due to all her sleep...
My little insomniac who has never taken great naps will now take a short nap in the afternoon, but she regularly wakes up in the middle of the night and quietly plays.  I only know this because her room is above ours and I am often up feeding the baby in the middle of the night and can hear her quietly talking or banging around.  She will go back to sleep eventually though.  She is probably my little night owl and is not as cheerful as the other two first thing in the morning.

She is my fearless little one.  She throws herself into the pool, face goes under, and she comes up laughing and ready to do it again. We are quite aware that we need to watch her because we have jokingly said that she would drown with no struggle.  She just thinks she can do anything!  She is also rather independent, which goes right along with the fearlessness.

However, she also has a nurturing side to her.  She constantly wants to help with her little sister.  She loves to hold Abigail!  She likes to kiss her too.  She blows kisses to everyone else too.

As mentioned before, she loves to try on shoes but always makes it into just one shoe and then goes prancing around.

We are finally getting to the point where she will not pull her hair out of a ponytail and so we can tame her wild locks occasionally.  She also keeps sunglasses on now for a while.

G Daddy's visit this month was nice...

Bizbeth still doesn't eat too well--her variety in food is very much lacking--but she has learned to eat her PB&J sandwiches without taking them apart.  This means she keeps a somewhat cleaner face and hair now (you can't tell in these pictures though!)

What a climber!  (see her fearlessness)  She wants to do what big kids can do!

Definitely a Daddy's girl!!!!

What a smart girl!  Biz can say all sorts of things and understands virtually everything.  I am constantly floored by her maturity and quick mind!

She still likes to be a baby at times but will quickly step aside to take care of the baby when called to (except when too tired).

Yeah for another month with this very busy Bizbeth!
