...we hardly could wait. We celebrated on Saturday night.
Before heading out of town for Christmas we knew we would be celebrating Christmas early, but the decision to celebrate on Saturday night was actually only decided spontaneously. After the Coles left, we decided to continue up with opening our family gifts that evening.
Thanks to lots of bargain-hunting, the kiddos had lots of little packages to open. Abigail received a doll that talks, and had a great time eating the wrapping paper. Initially, Elizabeth was frustrated by trying to open the packages, but after getting the hang of it, she enjoyed the process. Bizbeth got a bunch of dollar store goodies (necklaces, tiaras, grow sponges, stickers, long hair on a headband), several books, a pad of reusable stickers, a large pad of drawing paper, a hairbrush, some barrettes, and a doll umbrella stroller. She was thrilled by the last gift! She also liked playing with everyone else's gifts... David got many books, a bunch of dollar store goodies (award ribbon medals, a water bottle, grow sponges, a stomp rocket, a puzzle, an alligator hat), a big-boy hairbrush like Daddy's, an umbrella, a drawbridge for his train set, some erasers, a tape measure, a Cars watch, a bike horn, and a big bike with training wheels. (couldn't get the pictures of Daddy putting it together the night before though--it took all of 10 minutes) David was thoroughly excited about all of his gifts!
Along with the gifts we had given to the kiddos, Miss Irene (our next-door neighbor) gave the girls each a doll and David a remote control dump truck.
