We are fortunate to live near a neighborhood that goes all out with its Christmas lights display. Each street has a different theme and houses lit from top to bottom. This year we took all the kids and got a rather late start. It was probably 7:30ish (bedtime) when we started and not completed until 9:30ish. All were dressed in pjs and had their blankets. It was funny to watch the personality dynamics at play. David has always been a morning child and was pleading to go home and go to bed. Abigail is a cheerful morning child too but she tolerates the evening far better. She was content the entire ride to just sit and look, although not nearly as cheerfully as if first thing in the morning. Bizbeth was the surprise (although it should not have surprised me). She has always needed the least sleep of the three and really thrives at night time. She sat and cheered and exclaimed for joy the entire trip! Yeah! What a joy as only Michael, my mom, and Li can attest to. (remember Biz in the car for first year-two years of life????)
We saw old favorites this year including the twelve days of Christmas Texas style, Lady Liberty herself, a couple of houses completely lit with lights, decorated doors and some dancing light/music combos we tuned in on the radio (complete with LED moving Santa in upper window).

There were also new houses with light/music combos, a 30 foot reindeer, new nifty mailboxes and doors, a cross/manger scene, Daleks and blue phone box (this is for M!), a decorated "for sale" sign, a house/yard that magically glittered with lights like fairy dust (still unsure how they did it), an art car resplendent with lights taking in the scene with us, and some updated signs.
