Elizabeth (Bizzybeth) is 21 months old now. This month has held quite a lot of activity.
The most pronounced is the contant climbing out of the crib that started midmonth. Every naptime and bedtime found Biz wandering her room and getting into minor mischief (amazingly calm mischief compared to brother at the same stage). I tried to put her to bed in the bed instead of her crib but she wanted none of it and insisted on going to bed still in the crib. Spankings for tearing up a few books and coloring on the wall did not change the monkey antics. But after some prayer by BSF group as well as self, E is once again remaining in the crib until I get her. Ahhh....
She has rather successfully fed herself with a spoon for the first couple of times this month (I know. long overdue, but just did not want to clean up more of a mess). This is assuming she eats though. Still a matter of prayer, she is VERY insistent on only eating 2-3 different foods.
This bright little girl copies much of what her brother does. She is counting a bit now, but the funniest thing was listening to her climbing the stairs the other day. David said, "1,2..." E followed up with "3, 7..." David just continued on in the counting as if E had been helping him out. She is learning her counting skills from her brother. :) ie. not entirely accurately.
She also loves to sing and will be heard singing "God is so good" around the house.
She shows great interest in drawing/coloring and books. Perhaps this led to the mischief in her room (see above). She also likes puzzles and is amazing at picking out the shapes.
Now E along with D will clamor to watch the DVD player in the car. She sits still and watches like a big girl!
She has gone to the bathroom once or twice this month but I have not pushed this issue; she does not seem quite ready full time yet.
Still not overly affectionate, but she does love to give hugs. I think as a middle child, she treasures the intimacy of that "hug time" alone with me.
Biz seems to have shot up size wise this month and is wearing many 3 and 4 T clothes without being swallowed up. Her hair has also grown and she can even sport a very small ponytail now.
A natural mother, she does try to take care of the baby--with mixed results. Abigail loves her sister but seems to still wonder at the life-crushing hugs etc...
Biz loves to play with David and thinks he's wonderful! (except for the moments of sibling torment)
Another month gone by and barely a moment to stop. Bizbeth is on the go! (PS she hates to have her picture taken so she will take off the minute I pull out the camera--which accounts for the relatively few pictures of her)
