19 months

Biz has been busy this month.  She is in the midst of growing up and has already hit the terrible twos... Spanking have become more common and bringing about the result of a little girl who is controlling her emotions a bit better; we still have a long ways to go.

 

My beautiful tomboy LOVES to be outside and does not mind getting dirty (unlike her brother :) ).  She does, however, also love to dress up in girly clothes with bows in her hair.

 

 

We loved our visit with Gram this month...

E absolutely adores her brother (her archrival) and her sister (her baby doll). 

 

 

My tall girl has outgrown many of her 2T dresses--lengthwise--  Leggings and a few larger dresses may get us through until the summer. 

 

Still very attached to her "babby" (blankie).

Check yes or no

One of David's favorite questions for us now is "yes...or no?"  This is often said after we have told him "no" to something but he is hoping we will change our mind.  He asks it so hopefully! :)

He still eats his favorite "peer'n jelly" (which is better known as peanut butter and jelly).

 

Naptime is officially over.  D does still have quiet room time but he has not actually slept during that time in more than a month.  He will play moderately quietly in his room though for about an hour or so. 

 

He adores his friends and certainly has many of them...Mr Social Bug.

 

He also loves to be outside.  Especially when he can play with his sister...(did I mention, he still is a bit unsure of "sister's" name?  I have to jog his mind-Elizabeth, Biz, Bizbeth.  He does know Abigail's name, however)

 

David loves dressing up--here as the doctor tending an unhappy patient.  Often as a policeman, soldier, etc...

What fun conversations we can have now.  I love the man of God my little boy is becoming!

My personal hairdresser

Remember the days of doing each other's hair? Or your mom's? Don't all girls know what I am talking about?

It must just be a naturally ingrained desire because my little 18 month old is already playing with my hair. Although at times it is a bit rough, most of the time it feels absolutely heavenly!

One of the three Greatest Days as a Mom...

September 29, 2012.  This particular evening at bedtime, Michael and I were reading the Bible to David as our normal bedtime procedure.  After reading our story, we talked about Jesus' death on the cross for our sins.  This is not the first time we have talked about this with David. I know he is young, but I never want to assume he is too young for us to share the gospel and Godly truths with him.  Up until this evening, David had shown incomplete comprehension about his own sin and Jesus' sacrifice for him.  He had even told us he did not want Jesus to live in his heart.  This evening, however, David showed comprehension (on the level of a four year old).  When we asked him if he wanted Jesus to come into his heart, he said "yes!"  He told us he wanted to pray to ask Jesus into his heart.  We prayed.  While I am hesitant to declare this, I have a similar story with Godly parents who gave me an opportunity to know the Lord from earliest memories.  I prayed to receive the Lord as my Savior very young as well, but even without the exact date and memory, I have never doubted Jesus' work on my behalf.  I have the testimony of His changing work in my life since that early age.  David's story will hopefully be not just a date but the beginning of a life-changing devotion to Jesus. 

Since that time, he and I have had several conversations and he shows understanding of what he has done.  He has talked often about God living in his heart.  Here is one of the more humorous conversations:

"Mommy, I want to go outside."
"OK, feel free to go then." 
"But there is no adult outside."
"That's OK.  You will be fine out there."
"God is in my heart.  God is an adult?"
Chuckle.  "He sure is!"

David's first Bible verse that he memorized sums it up the best: 

Matthew 19:14 "Let the children come to me."
