I have thought over and over of the JOY of answered prayers in little A. She is 9 months old today and not only our little joy, but so laid-back, cheery, and tolerant. I think I might even miss the baby stage when she is too big to snuggle... (those who know me will be shocked at this! :)) I have never really wanted to pause time with my babies, but Abigail is growing up too quickly!
**************************************************
She no longer takes baths in her baby tub. She has graduated to the big girl tub. She is pretty hesitant and stationary still but loves to splash!!! Here are a few pics of her splashing this month before we retired the baby tub.
I am amazed to see a bit of comprehension already with her. She definitely recognizes her name. She has also begun to wave goodbye/goodnight in response to waving to her. It is absolutely precious and I giggle everytime I see it!
She is getting around quite well. She stands up at any chance she gets and can even stand holding only one hand. I also found her twice this month on the first step of the stairs. Uh-oh!
She is wearing pretty much all 12 month clothes and even many of them are too short on her. E is a bit jealous of the clothes that she finds A in. One day in E's dresser, the next day in A's. Given maybe a year, they will probably be wearing the same size.
And boy, can this girl eat! So unexpected (since the other two are the world's pickiest eaters); little Abigail eats any and everything! We may have gotten a late start on the baby food, but she is more than making up for it. She eats peas, zucchini, carrots, green beans, sweet potato (her favorite!!!), fruits, yogurt, baby spaghettis and other stage three foods. And even more amazingly, she is eating table food quite well now too. She loved the veggie lasagne I gave her. She has also had breads, little bits of fruit and even "banned" foods like eggs and peanut butter. In fact, one of her favorites that she eats regularly is PB and J sandwiches. :) I love the fact that she can feed herself now too. Definitely more competent with her left hand? Hmm.... What makes all this the most amazing feat is that she still has yet to show any signs of teeth! She drinks between two to three 6 or 8 oz bottles in the morning and again two in the afternoon. And she can hold her bottle seated in any position now. Yeah!
She doesn't take more than a 30 minute morning nap, if at all, but she does take several hours in the afternoon. She is still such a morning child! All grins and smiles first thing in the morning. (PS she now started falling asleep sucking her blanket binding. Yuk! No fingers for her...)
That tolerance and cheer gradually fade before naptime and then again right before bed until a well-meaning sibling sets off the tears.
Abigail LOVES the outdoor swing!
Time with Daddy is always special.
As is time with her crazy siblings.
What a cheery grown-up baby Abigail now is!
