As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

a soft heart

Potty training which was just about wrapping up last week for David has started over again with accident after accident.  Lots of frustration, mess, and laundry.

However, amongst this we have had a few moments of extreme sweetness.  I am very blessed (as is my husband) to have parents that modeled praying anytime, anywhere, for anything.  It is not uncommon to pray for a convenient parking spot or to find the perfect gift.  We, in turn, have tried to model this gift to our children.  During potty training last week several times David stopped to pray for Mommy (who was crying over the situation).  And even more touching...

One particularly challenging day when D was very exhausted and everything brought him to tears, he spilled his juice box into a little puddle on the table at lunchtime.  Not to be laughed off that day, he burst into sobbing.  While I went across the room to get something to clean it up, I heard him saying rather brokenly, "Dear Jesus, please help..."  Wow!  So unexpected and so encouraging!  What a joy to see your child turn to the Lord in sorrow- even over the small things!

Yes, you had wonderful roll models. I remember your mother praying before she went to garage sales, petitioning for items you and your sibs needed. And she almost always found them. She was an inspiration to me, too!

And now, you and your husband are definitely roll models for your children. Prov. 22:6
