She is quite a competent crawler now. She explores the house and investigates all the corners, all the while getting the dirty palms that a not quite clean house brings. (and getting into things that might not be hers to get into)
Not only has she really mastered crawling this month, but she now very comfortably sits up on her own. She surprised me even more this month by regularly sitting up on her own. Just like with the other two kiddos, I always find it surprising and hilarious to come in to her room and find her sitting up in her crib. She also takes breaks from crawling at times to sit up and take stock of everything.
Even more impressive is her pulling up on everything. I also regularly find her at a 45 degree angle pulled up on a chair or arms propped on a toy etc...She has even stood up on her own while holding onto an ottoman. Only a matter of time...
I have been trying to be more faithful feeding her baby food. She still is not a great fan, but she has mastered the art of opening her mouth most of the time now, at least. I can shove it in and much of it does go down her throat now. She still is lucky to get through half a jar of size 2 baby food at one sitting though...most of the time, much less. She has tried squash, pears, sweet potato (her fave), yogurt, applesauce, and now puffs. She grabs at them and will gather them in her palms but then cannot figure out how to transfer them to her mouth so they just get sweaty and soggy in her little hands unless I unclench the hands and put them in her mouth. She has managed to get them into her mouth a couple of times on her own.
Hallelujah! The day has come when A can hold her own bottle! While she still does not prefer (nor offer) to do so, she can and does hold her own bottle when lying down.
She still adores her brother! David can make her smile like no one else!
Time with sister is becoming sweeter too though. Biz often repeats her brother's "baby talk" to Abigail and tries to make A smile too. She also tries to be helpful and feed A (normally resulting in taking away the bottle almost as quickly as she gives it).
My how I love these three!
Little A is growing and now wearing all 6, 9, and 12 month clothes. The 9 and 12 month fit best. She is in size 2 diapers during the day and size 3 at night.
While usually incredibly calm and laid-back, when she gets angry, Abigail's whole face gets bright red and blotchy! She seems to have quite a temper!
Bedtime is becoming a pretty scheduled thing. She normally naps around 9:30 or 10:00 if we are at home for about 1 1/2 hours. Another 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. Then, bedtime is at 6:30 or 7:00 but the later it is (no matter how cheerful she is), the harder/longer it seems it takes for her to calm down and go to sleep.
All in all, a great joy to be around! Thank you, God, for my little Gator Woo...

She's growing so fast! And she's adorable...as are all your kids.
I was thinking about your food comments....Reid would not eat baby food...or anything on a spoon. He wanted real food. So we mixed the foods into a pancake or egg batter and made finger foods. And he gobbled it all...Eva (Adam's daughter) is the same. She wants REAL food. Her favorite, right now, is collard greens.
The red blotchy forehead during a fit must be genetic. Richard still gets those spots. They scared the stuff out of me when he was little, now I just roll my eyes. ;-)
