My evangelistic son

After having a discussion about the mormon temple, David was asking me how we can tell Mormons from other people.  I told him there is not an easy way to tell.  You have to have a conversation with them and ask them questions.  I said, "This is why it is so important to tell other people about Jesus."
I thought nothing more about this.

About 20 minutes later we were in the library.  I was searching for audio books for Michael.  The kids were impatiently antsy.  Out of the corner of my eye I saw David walk off (within eyesight) and "accost" a stranger.  This being my son, I did not think much of it.  He is by nature extremely talkative and friendly and often strikes up conversations with strangers.  I did tell him to leave her alone and come back to my side after I saw her give him a funny look.  It wasn't until a few minutes later after we were leaving that one of his off-handed comments penetrated my consciousness.  It was then that I realized he had gone up to her to ask her "Are you a Christian?" My sweet son was concerned for her spiritual state.

Later that evening, he asked if he could go up to another stranger at his basketball game and ask her if she was a Christian.  How do you respond to that???  I agreed he could.  While he might need to learn the time and place for these kind of questions, too many of us never ever ask at all because it is not the "right" time nor the "right" place.  I am so thankful to have a son with such a sweet heart for the Lord!

He puts on headphones in the car and tells me he is "connecting" to heaven.

(and even as I am typing this up...David announced to me that he just finished playing God in candyland; and God won!  Apparently, he knew God would be proud of him since he gave God a good card to win... :) )
