The activity level was almost too much this month. Between contractors at our house every weekday and some weekends this month and VBS and moving back in the last week of the month, it was full!
I am so thankful to our sweet friends the Andersons for hosting us overnight when our house was painted with the oil paint. I realized when we could smell the overpowering smell outside the house without opening doors or windows, that it was an even larger blessing than originally thought. It was such a treat to go to their house and be treated as family. They cooked for us and put us up, each in our own bedroom. The kids had a fabulous time playing with all the cool toys. And the fellowship couldn't have been sweeter. I so wish we had the excuse to do it again.
We did a lot of puzzles and listening to audio books--The Hardy Boys and Adventures in Odyssey--often at the same time. We discovered a sleeper. Abigail is crazy good at puzzles! She was doing 1000 piece puzzles with me and immediately finding random pieces that she had seen 15 minutes earlier and fitting them in the puzzle.
Of course, there were legos...David even set up a whole Bible scene and took some stop action pictures of Samuel announcing Saul as king of Israel. Notice anyone in the luggage? (PS this was entirely his idea!) He even video taped it. I only discovered all of this after the fact.

David went with his cousins to his first Astros game (well, first since he was 18 months old).
There was play time on our new glider swing.

A photo shoot in the very artistic bedroom. Looked like a modern art exhibit after the doors/wall/shelves were spray painted in our master bedroom.
We celebrated Father's Day (Michael brought home Gringos after church). And there were a few other moments with just Daddy at Starlite.

And on top of that, there was VBS... A sweet friend Lisa gave us extra shirts she had. She gave the girls extra too. They loved wearing the matching shirts! This year's theme was submerged. The decorations were phenomenal! And my girls kept begging for when they would get to go too...David came home with a new friend that he wanted to invite over. Typical David. Also typical David-- when asked her name, he said, " I don't know...maybe starts with a G!"
A full month but not a particularly easy one. Maybe only one trip to the pool. Summer started but we had not yet. Our house was not finished (despite moving furniture back in) and time was to stand still a little longer...
