As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

1, 2, 3, 7 years old!

Abigail,

You turned four in the blink of an eye!  Well, according to your fingers.  You know how many fingers to hold up, but according to your words, your counting is a bit shaky.  You are sure 7 comes after 3.

What a joy you still are!  You are definitely spunky and full of life.  You often stir up your siblings but all in good humor most of the time.  And while you can be a dramatic waterworks, you can turn it off just as quickly and be a wreath of smiles!  I love that little smile.  Even your eyes dance with mirth...

You are most definitely the baby.  Unlike the others, you have no desire to be labeled anything but.  You often tell me you are a baby.  And you still want to be fed.  Probably because you get tired of being done well after everyone else.  You are indeed a "slowpoker."  (your term)  You still suck your blanket but often tell me to take it because you are a big girl.  The next minute you burst into tears because I take it to wash it.  Good thing that most of your tears are crocodile tears.

Naptime is still very important to you.  You often go put yourself to sleep.  You don't have to take a nap everyday (albeit we can tell when you are too tired), but you ask to almost every day.  Smart girl!

You have definitely grown and getting quite tall with almost waist long hair.  Still very fine with just gentle curl at the bottom.  You also have the last remnants of blonde in our family.  Dark blonde, but still blondish.  Your sweet fingers are still chubby with baby fat.  Otherwise, you have grown up.  You and your sister can/do interchange clothes regularly.  You are a tad shorter but about the same size otherwise.

Speaking of sisters...you adore yours.  You and she play all the time!  And quite nicely most of the time.  You help each other with zippers in the morning, and she helps you pick out your clothes and accessories.  What a sweet relationship!

You also love your brother.  The two of you stir up your fair share of trouble.  You love to dump his toys out and then get him in trouble for a messy room.

You are just as verbal as your siblings but you have a sweet lisp.  Sleeping is still "shweeping" and three is "fwee."  This too will eventually pass.

Your favorites: princesses, ponies (between the two you will entertain yourself quietly for hours), books (especially princess or pony books!), puzzles (still a master!), Barbies, and movies (especially Barbie movies).  You also love to dress up but less frequently than the other stuff.

You would wear the same dress all week if you could.  You do wear pants and shorts, but often pick dresses.  You are far less of a fashionista than your sister though.  Content with the same few clothes...often a bit mismatched.

I can count on you to eat almost anything you are served.  You may take forever eating, but you also eat quite well.  You are also a bit unusual for a girl your age because you like spicy food.  Quite spicy.
So good natured most of the time.  Such a cheerful face.  You have brought such joy to the last four years!  Thank you, my dear Abigail!  We pray that this year will be the year that you fully understand and decide to accept Christ as your Savior.  There has been much discussion but not complete comprehension.  May you grow further this year to be your Heavenly Father's Joy...not just your father's joy.
