As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Bigger each day

Elizabeth, you turned 8 months old this month! I think I (and everyone else) has frozen you at 6 months old. Despite your "mad" activity skills, you are still so petite looking, it is hard to remember you are that old sometimes.

You still wear size 2 diapers, but are outgrowing those (just want to use the rest up). You suddenly have outgrown most of your smaller clothes (although can still wear many of them) and are more comfortably fitting size 9-12 months. And most of the baby socks are too small for you now.

Perhaps it is a growth spurt, perhaps it is a pacifier-type thing, but I have upped your bottle intake to 4 bottles of 8 oz. a day. You almost always eat breakfast now...always consisting of yogurt (your all-time favorite!) and occasionally dinner. In order to get you to start eating your veggies this month, most breakfasts are a bite of yogurt followed by a chosen vegetable or fruit. You are OK with most of them but definitely do not seem to like carrots as much as the others: sweet potato, squash, peas, green beans, pears. Where you used to gag at all puffs, now if I feed you 1/2 a puff, you will make a face of distaste but will chew on it until it is gone. You far prefer soft breads.

You still spit up more than anyone I have ever met!!!! A geyser, quite literally, at times! The doctor declared you to have a benign acid-reflux which is not worth medicating.

You love bathtime! You are so content splashing away in the water.

You are crawling everywhere now and pulling up on everything, including tentatively climbing a stair a few days ago. Uh oh! You will also occasionally cruise furniture, but are more content just standing there or dropping, crawling, and restanding.

No doubt about it, you are most definitely a mommy's girl!!! But now you will grin a big grin upon seeing your Daddy too. You also will grin at your brother-if you are in a cheerful mood. He makes you laugh very well! You are interacting with him/playing with him a bit better this month although, it is normally only a matter of time before the tears flow.

No teeth yet, but you love to chew on everything. Your favorite things to chew on, other than paper, are rubber toys. Your all-time favorite is a berry teether that is shaped like a pacifier.

You still don't sleep too well, but at least you are content playing in your crib. One day this month, you woke up at normal time of 7 am, took no naps, starting screaming of tiredness at 5 pm but would not go to sleep when dropped off at the church for PNO. You were up and lively at 10 pm and no nap when we picked you up!

Life is ever busy now and we have to keep a closer eye on you, but you are also now a bit more cheerful when you are well-rested. You even got a good report from GDaddy who came to visit this month!

Thank you, Lord, for another new day with this precious girl!
