As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Two Days for a Big Two Year Old!: part 3

Saturday we awoke and finished off our celebrations with birthday cake for breakfast and presents.

Elizabeth enjoyed the singing and even joined in herself a bit. She had a hard time blowing out the candles, but David was there to help her, done very discreetly.

Her presents were every little girl's dream...(and David's apparently, since he hasn't stopped playing with them since :) )  (and yes, they were wrapped in just Walmart bags this year...)  Elizabeth gave each present the attention it demanded and then moved on to the next present...all so diplomatically done.  She got some jelly bracelets (I didn't even know they made them anymore), an umbrella, 2 "magic" baby bottles, 4 pairs of dress up shoes (and the glass slipper was put on by prince charming himself), an outfit (which she held up to herself in true girl fashion), some bows and headband, some chapstick, bandaids, and 2 purses.  Several items were purchased with Elizabeth in tow (unavoidably) including her sparkly rainbow purse, but her face when she opened that present was priceless!!!  Unlike her brother, she is not one prone to exaggeration in her facial expressions.  Her mouth dropped open and she just stared at it for quite a while.  Worth every penny of the 99 cents I paid! :)

Cake was had by all (including Abigail).  The cake tasted good even if it had stuck to the pan and came out in pieces... And after eating all her piece, when our back was turned, we caught Biz licking the frosting off another section of the whole cake!  Sign of a real "sweet" girl!  (she was not fond of being dirty though and was also quick to try and clean herself with her napkin.)

We love you, Bizbeth!!!

You also got a few phone calls for your birthday and a wonderful light-up firefly Eric Carle book from Grammy and Grandpa.
