Advent begins

As in years past, we have had a very full advent season. 

What is advent? 
def. 1. The coming or arrival, especially of something extremely important 
2.  Christianity. The coming of Jesus at the Incarnation.

We are so thankful for this extremely important event!  What a celebration it is!  Jesus' birth (in view of his later sacrifice on the cross) is  our reason for hope!

We began advent with a Christmas Adventure at church on the 1st.  Like last year, they had a living nativity with a few animals, a short service where we offered diapers and wipes as gifts for baby Jesus (to the local crisis pregnancy centers), crafts (which we forwent), iced cookies and punch--a favorite, and pictures. 

 (Thanks to Stacy Hall who doesn't even know I lifted two pictures from her blog since they were better than mine :) )
