This month has been reminders of that constant battle. We decided to start potty training over Thanksgiving week. It was half-hearted (on my part) and only because she has shown all signs of being ready except the willingness to do the dirty stuff on the potty. Amazingly, she immediately started keeping her underwear dry. We ventured out to stores, church, etc...with only one accident in 3 weeks. That is, while out. At home is a different story. She just doesn't care enough. She has begun only keeping her underwear dry about half the time at home. She's only two...
We still put on diapers for nap and bedtime. She is absolutely clever beyond belief though. She will bang on her door and tell me she has to go potty simply so she can come out of her room in hopes to play. She also claims potty-time at mealtime when being told to eat something she does not like. She told me one day she had gone to the bathroom when she hadn't simply because she did not want to go. This and many other instances remind me that "Yes, we have a sinful, little liar on our hands at the moment." She has been disciplined more than once for lying but is so clever sometimes we cannot tell when she is lying or not. But we will have the upper hand through much prayer because she is still just two.
She has sprouted up and wears size 4T comfortably in the height but still is so petite that she quite comfortably fits 24 months everywhere else. Remember she is just two.
Bizbeth is a sweet-tooth! She loves to eat candy! But she is getting better at eating her "real" food too. I have to constantly remind myself she has improved drastically and she is just two.
Her favorite activity of all time is probably dressing up. She changes clothes 2-3 times a day. One day, she came out of her room in a "fat" suit. She was wearing 6 layers (4 long sleeve shirts and 2 dresses) on top and 5 layers on the bottom. This layering is still much the habit. Her favorite outfit is a purple leotard tutu that her aunt Sue gave her 2 years ago along with a pink Cinderella skirt, pink fairy wings given by aunt Sarah, and a pink tulle tutu on top. She definitely knows and loves the color pink! She cannot clearly label any other color, but she is just two.
the fat suit...
This bright little girl can count to 10 though. She is interested in letters too. But I must remember she is but two.
She loves stuffed animals and baby dolls. She mothers them. Maybe better than her sister, right? This little two year old does not always mother in the gentlest way...
But this two year old loves her siblings so much! And she is a Daddy's girl...
She still has moments of temper tantrums. She is learning (rather slowly) to not get frustrated the first time when she cannot get her leg in the correct leg of the pants or the arm in the right sleeve. But she is only still two.
I adore this highly intelligent, very affectionate girl! When I remind myself that she is still just two, so many frustrations with her actions melt away. She is still my baby (hard to remember with Abigail in tow). Her maturity in so many areas has placed false expectations on her. Love this little girl!
