As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

a second round of secrets...continued

...the next morning we woke up quite a bit warmer...at least until we went downstairs.

We got a late start and then headed over the Weyler/Leed house.  On the way, we stopped to take a few pictures, including the mountain Lupine--Maine's version of the Texas bluebonnet.

The Sow's Ear Winery made us laugh everytime we passed by.  Looked more like a haunted house...
but it was indeed open, I suppose, since the "open"/"closed" sign changed daily.

The 3 Weyler "kids" and families decided to go to the Holbrook Island Sanctuary for a "hike."  We started with lunch next to the water...and yes, it was still quite chilly.  The temperature wasn't too bad but the wind was quite cold.

The "beach" was a small strip of rocky sand full of washed up seaweed.  The boys enjoyed trying their hand at skipping rocks.

Then, we took a short hike along the backshore trail...it was through some woods and then along an area that had lots of standing water.  Finally out to another bay.  The stench was like sewage but the views were pretty magnificent.  Abigail was still being challenging a good bit of the time and did not want to smile for the camera, and then just as suddenly after I was done taking growling pictures, she would beg me to take her picture.
Also, there is some secret mystery regarding sticks...still not sure I completely understand it but count the number of pictures below (and above) that feature a boy with a stick...

#14--and the craziest of all--since Paul really let the javelin stick fly!

We hiked back out and ran back up the hill again.  Stopped for photos of the grandkids minus Joshua.  It was rather a disaster...

 (and more sticks)

On the way back to the Weyler/Leed house, we stopped for a few pictures and then again at our picturesque farmhouse to have Sarah take some family pictures.  The family pictures were, again, a failure.

We finally returned back to the house and rested a bit and then headed to Sylvia and Leigh's house for dinner.  They had put together a feast!  We had homemade seafood chowder, followed by a whole lobster per person, followed by homemade strawberry rhubarb crumble.  Another secret?  How to get into the meat of the lobster.  But we all figured it out with some good coaching.  Yum!  Everything was great!

After dinner it was time to head back to bed.  This time, the house was just a tiny bit warmer.

...to be continued once again...one of the scarier moments coming up...
