After breakfast, we followed through on our intent to walk the riverwalk although we were all quite tired from the previous day on our feet in the sun. It was muggy, but I am so glad we did. It really is lovely!
right outside of our hotel
the twin cypress was just outside our balcony
you can see our balcony from here--
the one right above the parking garage and half obscured by the building.
a tree growing out of the wall of a restaurant
ducks were everywhere
After half of our walk around the main river square, we detoured to take the kids to see the Alamo.
We then returned to our route and finished the loop back to our hotel.
yes, those are window washers way up there!
Our last stop before getting on the road again was for a late lunch at Mi Tierra. It was fun to see the kid's reactions to the tinsel, lights, and decorations everywhere. And Abigail (who was cranky and exhausted by then--no nap 3 days in a row) was fascinated by the blue and pink flowers in our server's hair. And I personally love the 3D murals on the wall in the back room.
We were off mid-afternoon for our last stop of the day before heading home.
