It is true that suddenly five sounds a lot older! She is kindergarten age! Nothing has changed and yet everything has changed. My little middle is growing up!
We celebrated her birthday by going to Bouncing Bears in the morning. It had been a long time since we had last been so it entertained until they got hungry. Mommy forgot her camera, but I managed to get a few pictures.
We headed to a friend's new house and picked up lunch along the way at a Kroger's we don't normally shop at. It felt like a whole different world...and it is in the same town and only 15 minutes from our house. Fancy store. Fun to pick out different, fun lunches. We spent the afternoon at Mrs. Amy's new house. Always nice to see them...even with the--ahem--difficult afternoon.
We returned home in order to make E's requested dinner, homemade macaroni. Daddy came home early with flowers for our birthday girl.
After dinner, Biz opened a few presents. They were very low key this year and almost all rotated around either books or barbies/clothes. (And since Mommy has so many spare Amazon boxes around, they made a perfect wrapping) D gave E a special drink he had gotten at the grocery store the day before and A gave E a ballerina barbie that she kept trying to take back. :) E also got a princess bathrobe from us, a coloring notebook and colored pencils (D helped me put together), a card and check from Gram/GDaddy, and a card and gc to Amazon from Grammy and Grandpa.
Midway through the gifts, we took a break to have cupcakes that she had picked out. No homemade this year. She liked these ones because they had "Tinker" rings on them.
The evening was capped off by getting to sleep in David's bedroom!
Happy Birthday, big 5 year old! We love you, Elizabeth!
