Since we had gone to church the night before, we slept in a bit (no one has told my kids that you are supposed to wake up early on Christmas morning---shhhh, don't tell them!). After a leisurely breakfast, we sat down with Mom and Dad to open stockings and our gifts which hadn't been opened in the week preceding.
Dad was a good sport "sporting" all his different mustaches until we decided on the best fit. The kids loved the candy in the stockings. Then time for the "big gifts." David received a lego set, a rubber band gun, and some more books--including several audio books. Elizabeth got a mermaid tail blanket, an American Girl look-alike, a few books, a boogie board and some gel pens. Abigail got her first lego set, an American Girl look-alike, some markers and a Disney Dance wii game. Michael got 40+ audio books (more than he could possibly listen to in 1 year), an antique print of Ernest Shackleton, some socks, shirts, and shoes. I received just what I purchased :) (the Lego brick bank among other things) and a few surprises that Michael had purchased several weeks earlier! My favorite gift (thanks to the thought) was two boxes of the hair color that I am now using to color my hair. I had looked for some more the week before M's parents came but Walmart was all out. I kept looking, hoping that I was searching for the wrong color. M stood next to me and just said that he didn't think the ones I was looking at were the right color. Hah! He had purchased the last two boxes the week before! And he had noted the color of the box next to my sink and gone and gotten them! What a sweet man!
After lunch, we headed to the Mark Coles to wish everyone a quick Merry Christmas. We returned to our house afterward for dinner and to open the presents that we were exchanging among cousins. David received a marvel action figure set. Elizabeth received a ballet dress and a purse, headband, and cape/mask combo (which often gets sported as a skirt). And Abigail received a Hello Kitty bathrobe, an Elena doll as well as a cape/mask combo too.

Gifts to honor the one true and only important gift--Jesus! E had told me just the week before that she did not need any gifts since she had already gotten the real gift, Jesus! Yeah for this understanding at such a young age.
Time to turn in after several long days--and a few more to go...
