We visited for a bit after lunch and then opened tree presents: yahtzee for kids, Vivaldi cd, books, picture tray, shoes, sugared pecans, a neck wrap, a Tardis mug, and ribbon holder (handmade by M for me) were some of the assorted gifts from and to each other. In addition, D received a Chuck toy from Uncle Paul and Aunt Susan, a White House birth ornament from Aunt Sarah and Uncle Rich, two book from Grammy and Grandpa, a Thomas train set, and a Lightning McQueen digital camera (which has been rarely out of his hands since...can't wait to see the pictures when I put them on the computer!) E received a sweet outfit from Grammy and Grandpa, a White House birth ornament from Aunt Sarah and Uncle Rich, a baby doll from us, and a baby doll that giggles from Aunt Sue and Uncle Paul. She burst into smiles at the giggling and simply wants to poke at the eyes of the one we gave her. She was just as interested in eating all the wrapping paper, however, as she was the gifts!
Grammy and Grandpa stayed several more days and we managed to fit in a few more fun activities. The boys worked in the garage, they had a Father-son outing one day, we enjoyed the beautiful weather with a walk, and we spent Wed. (the 28th) celebrating my sweet husband's 38th birthday! He was more than pleased with the Chicago style pizza we specially ordered for the event. (his unfulfilled wish for the past several years).
What a wonderful visit and extension to the greatest birthday of all time; Happy Birthday, Jesus!
