We have had some deep conversations with David recently.
A couple of days ago, I spent a while talking about how we can please God..."make Him happy."
Michael, meanwhile, took on the task of explaining omnipresence to David.
Yesterday, David's mouth was hurting quite a bit. We had prayed for it to stop hurting the day before. At dinner he asked, "Mommy, why does God not make it stop hurting even when I pray?" Oh, the ever-present question of "evil" in the world! I tried to explain it with "God's plans are not always our plans." But even at my age, this is still a tough question to answer. Perhaps, especially at my age.
