As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Half a year

Abigail turned 6 months almost without us noticing.

She is definitely making her personality a bit more known now.  While she is still a sweet, smiley baby much of the time, she is not happy to be left alone!!! and more specifically, she really wants Mommy to be with her all the time.  She is getting around better this month, and I hope that will change things in the months to come.

A is crawling and can get to almost anything although it is still half army-crawl/ half full-body crawl.
What she doesn't reach by crawling is reached by flipping from side to side.  She is sitting for short periods on her own now too.

Although Abigail is supposed to be eating solids by now, it has been a slow process.  We have tried several different foods, but she is just very ambivalent about any of it and so often will not even open her mouth at all.  And when she does, much comes right back out.

This is not just with her foods, she is often rather ambivalent about her bottles too.  What a change from ravenous David and efficient Elizabeth...  Because of this attitude, she does not really help hold her bottle either.    When she is hungry, she will furiously cry until she has had about 1-2 oz. and then settle back into the relaxed, who-cares attitude again.  Overall, she is still drinking about 20-30 oz. in 5 increments a day.

Abigail definitely still wants a morning nap around 9 or 9:30 if she can get one.  She will nap again in the afternoon but always wakes up at 2:00 no matter when put to bed and sometimes goes back to sleep again within 5 minutes, sometimes not.

At last, she is finally sleeping until a reasonable hour in the morning.  Sometimes it is as early as 6:30, but most often she is fine until 7:30.

She still adores her brother.  Biz loves A, and it is funny to see one "baby" trying to entertain another one.

Doctor's stats: 26" (60%ile), 14 lbs. 10 oz. (22%ile), 16.61" head circumference (43%ile) and all was well.

This month was a full one with a first Christmas, first airplane ride, and first time meeting Grandparents, Great Grandma, an Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin.  Mostly all taken in stride.

What fun these next months will hold!

I love seeing the pictures of your kids loving on each other! I love seeing that with my kids, too. Abigail sounds a lot like my oldest in the eating department. He was never a good eater and never held his own bottle. He's still satisfied much of the time with just a couple of times, so he's skinny as a rail. My youngest is a different story, and thrilled us by holding his own bottle. It's so fun to see how different siblings are from one another, but it certainly keeps us on our toes!
