Good things

We enjoyed a more pleasant Saturday this year doing the Champions Christmas activities.  The weather was not the bitter cold we had experienced in past years but rather balmy...

We started out with the carnival ride.  It scared me a bit to put Abigail on there with her siblings and no adult, but she held on for dear life.  It started ok with all enjoying it, but it went a few minutes too long and her face says it all as she begged to get off.  The tears turned to smiles again once she realized the ride was slowing down again.

Next, we stopped in the petting zoo for a few minutes.  Elizabeth was the most excited.  Abigail, again, not so much...

Ditto above--E was thrilled, D rather crabby and A just refused.

Next we took the train ride to the other activities.

While waiting in line for some of the stuff, we spotted Frosty and Rudolph walking around.  It was funny to see E's response.  Again, she was the only interested party, and she practically ran and threw herself into their arms as well as requesting photos taken.  The funniest part is the turn-around that this demonstrated from  two years previous where she was terrified of them!  :)

We decorated some cookies...again, rather dry and yucky-- (sorry, cookie company).  David decorated his football meticulously and E just had a great time adding all sorts of things to her soldier.

Kids stood in line for balloon animals while I waited for the carriage ride.

Carriage ride was filled with excitement as M hopped out several times to move cones etc...for the driver.

And somewhere in there we visited Santa.  And all cooperated for first time.  We never make a big deal about Santa.  Neither M nor I grew up going to see Santa nor believing he is real.  We talk about him casually with the kids but they all know he is not real either.  Fine, except when E yells out while standing in line, "Jesus is real.  And Santa is not real, right mom?"  :)  Too true, little one.
