As we undertake to keep up with the rest of the world and technology... we will attempt to keep our thoughts penned regularly for you here on our blog. Most importantly, we would like this to be a reflection of the love of our Faithful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Joyful celebration

9 ZeZechariah 9 "9 Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
    Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
    righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey."

The Christmas Spectacular this year was truly spectacular!  The first act used all sorts of technology including audience participation on cell phones, a massive LCD display backdrop, lighting effects, and falling snow.  The singers were in the aisles, around the sanctuary and often within a handshake distance to us.  Good thing there was so much activity since the childcare that I was certain the church had promised was not to be.  A came with us out of necessity and was a bit antsy toward the end of the first act.

(A joining in on my phone during audience participation)

 Intermission

The second act was the usual nativity story once again played out all around us.  Even the view of Mary and Joseph and the donkey walking right next to us only slightly delayed Abigail's fidgeting. She proceeded to sit on the laps of the two very sweet, complete strangers in front of us.  The camels and elephant only momentarily held her attention so we slipped out the instant the finale came.

(and this one was taken because the little head on the lap in front of me is my daughter!)

(again, my daughter...)

We proceeded to the back of the church where the little kids played in the snow while David went down the snow hill on the sled and ended up completely covered in mud.  E was less than thrilled by the snow since she had insisted on wearing her flip flops despite advice to the contrary.
